Minco has an outstanding opportunity for you to join our Operations team as a full-time Production Group Lead.  In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of production workers in a manufacturing environment, ensuring efficient operations, quality standards, and timely completion of production goals. This hands-on leadership role involves coordinating daily activities, troubleshooting issues, and fostering a safe, productive workspace while aligning with overall production schedules and company objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Lead, train, and mentor a group of 10-20 production associates; assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide feedback to enhance skills and productivity.
  • Production Oversight: Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to schedules, quality controls, and safety protocols; adjust workflows as needed to meet targets and minimize downtime; review dispatch lists to prioritize work and allocate resources effectively.
  • Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in production methods and recommend improvements; apply Lean Manufacturing principles such as 5S, Kaizen, and single piece flow in production to optimize output, reduce waste, and promote continuous improvement.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards; report non-conformances promptly and implement corrective actions.
  • Safety Compliance: Monitor work area conditions for safety issues and report incidents to facilitate escalation and resolution; collaborate on addressing unsafe conditions in accordance with company policies.
  • Resource Management: Coordinate with planning and production teams to secure equipment, materials, and staffing; ensure adherence to processes for material handling, usage reporting, employee assignments, and equipment utilization.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Ensure team members follow shop order reporting protocols, including accurate time entries; assist in documenting training records and promote the proper use of production reporting tools to maintain accurate production metrics.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interface with others such as planning, engineering, quality control, technicians, coordinators and supervisors to resolve issues and support continuous operations

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience: 2-5 years in manufacturing, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership role; hands-on experience in assembly, machining, or similar production processes.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with production software (e.g., ERP systems like IFS or SAP); basic understanding of assembly manufacturing equipment, processes, and machinery operation relevant to the manufacturing of electronic components and circuits; knowledge of quality tools (e.g., Lean Mfg. basics); proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership and communication abilities; problem-solving mindset; ability to motivate teams and handle high-pressure situations.

 

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in operations management or business administration preferred.
  • Understanding of basic operational support principles and practices (inventory, planning, and production),
  • Experience preparing reports and manipulating queries
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and ERP/MRP systems
  • Certifications: J-Std Solder Certification, Lean Manufacturing credentials
