Minco is seeking a Senior Planner for our operations planning department.  This position is responsible for integrating elements of the supply chain, forecasting supply and demand for products, and scheduling production requirements. In this role, you will be responsible for daily shop order management and sales contact, as well as providing support for the master planner. Additionally you will review capacity requirements and communicate lead times to support sales forecasts and customers’ requirements. You will also be accountable for reducing lead times and insuring the product is delivered to the customer on time.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with production and inventory to determine proper production order schedule
  • Analyze production, sales and customer demand in order to ensure balanced levels for production
  • Improve reports for production schedules and capacity requirements
  • Provide accurate lead times for all products
  • Use current production models and inventory management to improve processes and drive for results
  • Determine appropriate supply for one or more product groups that involve variable supply chain volumes due to fluctuating demand
  • Participate in daily production meetings to ensure On Time Delivery goals are reached
  • Assist inventory control through reducing no move and excess material, as well as adjust safety stock levels

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3 or more years of experience in a manufacturing production planning position
  • 3 or more years of experience applying forecasting and manufacturing distribution principles and practices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree
  • Experience applying manufacturing production and operational principles and practices.
  • Experience with ERP software
  • Working knowledge of various manufacturing principles and ideologies including MRP, Kanban, Lean Manufacturing, Just-in-Time, and Supply Chain Management
  • Experience with Quality standards and practices
  • Intermediate skills in Excel (sorting, filtering, auto summation, pivot tables, look-up tables, graphs and formulas)
  • APICS – CPIM certification
  • Experience with IFS ERP software
  • Lean manufacturing experience

Professional Skills Requirements:

  • Able to work with a team as well as on independent projects
  • Able to analyze data and make cost efficient decisions

 

This position is a regular full-time position located in our headquarters in Fridley, Minnesota
