Engineering Coordinator I

Overview

Engineering Coordinators provide administrative support to the Engineering team in day-to-day operations. They maintain critical business data, identifies problems or delays, and coordinates communication within the department. They provide timely and effective support to Engineers, Drafters, Management, and other internal teams as required.

Responsibilities

Role:

 

  • Performs basic office duties such as copying, filing, typing standard documents, scanning, entering data, and running basic or standard reports.
  • Supports new product introduction (NPI) activities while monitoring compliance to internal documented processes.
  • Maintains, updates, and ensures the accuracy of standard documents, records, and accounts.
  • Maintains the integrity of the document control system.
  • Provides reliable and consistently high-quality administrative support such as assigning quotes, tracking NPI project status, creating PO requisitions, editing routing steps in ERP system, reviewing and editing documents, and reserving and issuing materials.
  • Processes assembly instruction (AI), and Engineering change orders requests (ECO/ECRs)
  • Sets up Routings and Structures of catalog products; adds documents and sets up approval routings.
  • Assists higher level administrative support personnel in complex tasks.
  • Maintains training records for the department.
  • Coordinates and schedules various meetings.
  • Assists with projects as needed and acts as a member of the project team.
  • Identify’s opportunities and continually contributes to the improvement of department processes and services in order to meet or exceed customer requirements, quality objectives, and grow Minco profitability.
  • Develops knowledge, skills and abilities in the areas of Continuous Improvement (Lean, Standard Work, Six Sigma, Innovation, etc.). 
  • Provide floating Engineering Coordinator duties to support other product areas during absences.
  • Perform other duties as identified.

  • Familiar with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software

 

Work Experience:

 

  • A minimum of two years of administrative support experience.
  • Experience working for a manufacturing company and working within either AS9100 or ISO9001 based quality systems preferred.
  • Experience working with Engineers or other Technical staff preferred.

 

 

Education:

 

  • Minimum High School graduate or equivalent education and experience.

 

 

Work Environment:

 

  • General office, engineering, and manufacturing environments.
  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
