Manufacturing Engineering Intern

Overview

Responsibilities

  • Design of product tooling and test fixtures, running engineering tests, part inspection, failure analysis, and process characterization
  • Meet with production technicians, internal customers, or other engineers to understand production requirements, objectives, timelines, and project tasks
  • Assist with or coordinate communications within the plant; projects are specific in scope or by segment, more clearly defined, and involve closer oversight
  • Participate in design, process, and continuous improvement projects that impact limited production function
  • Work within objectives and timelines, and involves engineering or production personnel as required to complete tasks

Qualifications

  • Actively enrolled in an accredited engineering degree program
  • Sophomore level completed toward an engineering degree in electrical, mechanical engineering or other related program

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with analysis tools and test/inspection hardware and software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer skills; Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); and other applicable applications including 3D CAD packages (SolidWorks, ProE or similar)
  • Ability to work 10 to 20 hours per week during school after full time summer hours are complete
