Supplier Quality Engineer

Overview

Supplier Quality Engineer will be both internal and external constituent-facing; uncovering, discovering, researching, exploring, defining, evaluating, assessing, qualifying, and certifying both current and new suppliers, third-party providers, and vendors.  The Supplier Quality Engineer works with our internal and external constituents to serve and solve our clients/customers with both standard and custom product offerings, consistently exquisite quality, timely and predictable delivery to Minco, and normalized ordering volumes and patterns to support our desired inventory management.  Supplier Quality Engineers will serve the needs and opportunities of both existing and new clients/customers.

Responsibilities

Role:

 

  • Qualifies both current and new suppliers, third-party providers, and vendors; meeting or exceeding all Minco standards of performance by uncovering, discovering, researching, exploring, defining, evaluating, assessing, qualifying, and securing proper certifications. 
  • Provides competent Minco product and service solutions to our many and varied clients/customers; successfully meeting or exceeding all company profit and growth expectations.
  • Consistently and constantly evaluate, assess, and report on any and all suppliers, third-party providers, and vendors:  quality, on-time delivery, and overall performance, providing timely follow-up, follow-through and feedback throughout all facets of operation.
  • Demonstrates sound business acumen; successfully implementing all client/customer solutions with continual company profit-mindedness.
  • Ensures full and complete compliance with any and all Minco Quality Standards and Certifications (NADCAP, AS9100, ISO, NASA, ESA,…) with the full enforcement of any/all company policies, procedures, and/or programs.  All suppliers, third-party providers, and vendors are thoroughly reviewed, vetted, approved or disapproved to be in full and complete compliance with any/all company policies, procedures, and/or programs.
  • Successfully implements all external and internal constituent programs timely, professionally, competently, and profitably, as approved by Management.
  • Timely, professionally, competently, and profitably solves any and all supplier, third-party provider, and vendor inquiries and challenges, as approved by Management.
  • Successfully and timely implements all company program and service offerings approved by the collaborative work of Management, Engineering, Quality, and Product Marketing, as approved by Management.
  • Implements, monitors, and communicates timely all client/customer projects, programs, and orders, as provided by suppliers, third-party providers, and vendors, to their successful and timely completion.
  • Maintains and continually updates the Approved Supplier list (ASL), by determining and enforcing the required suppliers, third-party providers, and vendors process development, validations and qualifications.
  • Creates, monitors and maintains a Certified Supplier Program; perpetually providing all means necessary to ensure cost-effective and timely solutions is/are provided by suppliers, third-party providers, and vendors.
  • Comprehensively creates, establishes, and maintains control (process, product, and inspection) standards of performance at the suppliers, third-party providers, and vendors manufacturing and/or fabrication facilities, discerning risk-assessment throughout.
  • Ensures timely resolution of any and all suppliers, third-party providers, and vendors non-conformance to Minco standards of performance, providing corrective actions and resolutions, as well as proactive preventive actions to be implemented.  Monitors all products and programs through lifecycle; timely resolving suppliers, third-party providers, and vendors challenges and issues, as well as providing timely and comprehensive communications throughout.
  • Implements company profitable growth strategies for any/all suppliers, third-party providers, and vendors.
  • Proactively solves opportunities and challenges by implementing actionable solutions ensuring company profit, revenue and growth objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Successfully identifies and creates opportunities to expand our company product and service offerings with suppliers, third-party providers, and vendors.
  • Performs other duties as identified.

Work Experience:

 

A minimum of three (3) years working in a similar role at a business-to-business manufacturing company with diverse product and service solutions.

 

Education:

 

Bachelor or Master Degree in Engineering.
