Then this R&D Engineering Technician position is for you! Every day you will help Minco succeed by assisting with technology research and development, participating on product development teams as a technical resource, and assisting engineers with fixturing, prototyping and testing of new E2E models. You will serve as a subject matter expert, providing technical assistance on test equipment and instrumentation and live Minco’s icare values -- Integrity, Communication, Accountability, Respect, & Energy.

    Responsibilities

    • Participate in projects to provide technical engineering support on product or technology development.
    • Perform tasks that involve an understanding of written or verbal instructions, specification drawings, test specifications and testing equipment, data acquisition systems, and defined procedures while following safety precautions.
    • Apply an understanding of technical engineering principles and practices to collect and analyze data, recognize potential design improvements or problems, and suggest and/or perform additional research and investigation.
    • Work with engineers to create and review detailed CAD drawings for components, assemblies, and tooling, in a way that is suitable for use in fabrication.
    • Assemble test and measurement systems with defined system accuracies.
    • Record and analyze measurement data to determine capability of meeting customer requirements.
    • Review test plans or other written work instructions to ensure data requested is appropriate, and that it addresses and proves/disproves the objectives of design and verification. Submit recommendations to assigned engineer.
    • Recommend updates to draft work or technical instructions or standards; provide basic training or instruction to improve a design.
    • Provide support to new product design and verification, set up tests, collect and analyze data, review test results, and draft written results, and make recommendations for design improvements.

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Associates degree in Engineering or related field
    • Two years of technical or advanced experience as an engineering technician

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Previous electronics manufacturing or industrial controls experience
    • Strong electronics and instrumentation aptitude
    • Ability to design and run tests with variable operational conditions
    • Mechanical aptitude with machining experience
    • Microsoft office applications experience (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint)
    • Familiarity with use of basic statistics and data analysis
    • Experience working with Solidworks, CAD and CNC training components
    • Experience/interest in 3D printing
    • Experience with engineering software and programs

    This position is a regular full-time position located in our headquarters in Fridley, Minnesota.
