    Do you enjoy updating drawings and designs for production and prototype models? Then this entry level Drafter position is for you! Every day you will help Minco succeed by investigating product requirements, partnering with engineers on the design process, responding to customer needs, and living Minco’s icare values -- Integrity, Communication, Accountability, Respect, & Energy.



    • Work with various groups, such as sales, production, engineering, and purchasing to complete projects or respond to customer needs regarding product specifications, drawings, results, and other information
    • Perform or assist in technical design tasks from engineering concepts including part modeling, drawing creation, circuit layout and preparation of supporting documentation using CAD software
    • Collaborate with Design Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Process Engineers, Technicians, and customers on new product designs
    • Design, output, verify and complete approvals for all manufacturing tools including specification drawings, CAM outputs, tooling drawings, electrical schematics, and fixture drawings
    • Perform or assist in circuit/pattern design and layout to meet customer requirements and optimize product performance
    • Participate in design reviews needed to provide functional and cost-effective fixtures for product fabrication
    • Interact with suppliers on tooling designs
    • Update records, documents, procedures, and system requirements regarding product introduction, maintenance and deletion, such as drawings, designs, specifications, parts, and other product requirements
    • Identify areas of improvement, provide recommendations, and implement solutions using appropriate tools (e.g. databases, spread sheets, etc.)


    Basic Qualifications:


    • Associate degree in technically-oriented discipline (Engineering Technology, Drafting, , CAD, etc.)
    • 3month minimum (internships included) design/drafting experience in a manufacturing environment


    Preferred Qualifications:


    • Knowledge of PCB circuit layout
    • Knowledge of Altium Designer & Vault
    • Knowledge of AutoCAD,
    • Experience with SolidWorks
    • Knowledge of translating CAD/CAM data between different software platforms (i.e. Altium, SolidWorks, DXF, IGES, and STP, Gerber)
    • Ability to read and understand ANSI/ASME standard mechanical drawings, schematics, and written work instructions
    • Ability to independently interpret and apply the ASME Y14.5M – 1994 Dimensioning and Tolerancing Standards
    • Understanding of fixture design and GD & T, tolerance analysis; experience with eCAD and PLM
    • Ability to plan and organize the complete drawing package for a design project
    • Experience drafting specifications, drawings, artwork, (circuit design) and designs for products
    • Experience applying drafting and operational principles, practices, and standards
    • Ability to understand basic electrical and mechanical principles
    • Computer experience (MS Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

    This position is a regular full-time position located in our headquarters in Fridley, Minnesota.
