If you have previous experience working at Minco, this is an outstanding opportunity for you to join our team as a full-time Assembler on 1st or 2nd shift. You'll have the opportunity to be a key piece of our production process. You’ll work closely with other members of our production team and what you do will have an important impact on the company and our customers.  Every day, you will be responsible for delighting the customer, practicing continuous improvement, and operating within our company’s “icare” values while growing and developing in your role.

Responsibilities

  • Follow written and verbal instructions relating to work methods, tasks, and requirements
  • Assemble components based on work instructions
  • Identify required information and data to complete paperwork based on standards and work methods
  • Identify quality at the source and communicate with production leads, supervisors, co-workers, maintenance, quality control, and warehousing to ensure quality products
  • Handle and label tools, materials, and equipment according to safety and operational principles and practices
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment and 5S (Sort, Straighten, Sweep, Standardize and Sustain) within work area
  • Comply with Standard Work and operating policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment, quality products, and efficient operations
  • Perform machine maintenance
  • Read and interpret drawings
  • Assist team with continuous improvement projects
  • Work with small hand tools
  • Cross train in other areas
  • May require work with hazardous materials
  • Our current business environment requires that employees be able to speak, read, and write English at an 8th grade level or higher

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Previous experience performing assembly at Minco in one of our three business units

Preferred Qualifications:

  • J Standard Certified
  • Experience with welding, fine wire assembly, potting,  lamination or chemicals
  • Continuous Improvement training or experience
  • Machine maintenance experience
  • PC Skills including Microsoft Office and Data Entry

Professional Skills Required:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience multi-tasking and prioritizing assigned work
  • Organized and detail orientated
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding production goals

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to stand or sit for extended periods of time
  • Able to lift 25 pounds on a consistent basis and 50 pounds infrequently
  • This role requires fine motor skills, dexterity and may require color blindness testing

This is a full time 1st or 2nd shift position located in our headquarters in Fridley, Minnesota.
