Minco has an outstanding opportunity for you to join our Operations team within the Temperature and Sensing Control solutions product family area as a full-time Manufacturing Technician on 1st shift.  In this role, you will provide technical and problem solving support to the production floor and support process related issues. You'll have the opportunity to analyze trends and work on problem solving teams. You'll work closely with our production staff and what you do will have an important impact on the company and our customers.  Every day, you will be responsible for delighting the customer, practicing continuous improvement and operating within our company’s “icare” values while growing and developing in your role.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing Technician provides support to a work cell or area through trouble shooting models, equipment and documentation.
  • This role requires the ability to effectively prioritize multiple issues at once to best support production in a timely manner.  Technicians are responsible for equipment set-up, care and repair as needed.
  • The manufacturing technician is the communication link between engineering and the production floor and must have the ability to decipher specification drawings and other technical documents along with the ability to communicate clearly and conscise to the appropriate level for the audience.  Assists with leading or leads work teams or projects on problem resolution, work cell initiatives, or other programs.
  • Respond to Production line-stop incidents, keeping the lines producing parts
  • Inspect and set up tooling, programming and machines for Manufacturing that require specific tolerances
  • Train and assist manufacturing assemblers in various work centers as required
  • Root Cause Analysis and scrap reduction/prevention activities
  • Verify work methods and documentation in Manufacturing areas
  • Complete appropriate documentation (ECR’s, data sheets, etc.)
  • Returned Goods analysis
  • Light equipment PM and repair
  • Support value stream continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Analyze and identify trends and resolve root cause for products and processes that represent excessive waste, scrap, labor, re-work or customer returns
  • Lead work teams or projects toward work center initiatives, problem resolution or other programs
  • Perform equipment / product qualification testing
  • Communicate with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems
  • Apply a variety of assembly and manufacturing principles and practices within the Thermal Production area
  • Manually assemble materials and parts utilizing mechanical or electronic equipment as required by the assembly process
  • Ensure compliance with quality or production standards
  • Update company records

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Five or more years of manufacturing experience and a high school diploma OR an Associate’s degree in a technical field such as engineering.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Root Cause Analysis experience (Six Sigma, Plan Do Check Act, Cause and Effects Analysis)
  • Lamination/press experience preferred
  • Knowledge of electronic test equipment (Multi meters, Hypot tester, etc.) preferred
  • Strong understanding of production and manufacturing
  • PC skills; Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Able to read and interpret specification drawings and written instructions
  • Project management experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of products and work methods

 

Professional Skills Required:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

 

This position is a regular full-time 1st shift position located in our headquarters in Fridley, Minnesota.
